Invisalign treatment - the clear way to straighten teeth

The Invisalign treatment system has revolutionised orthodontic treatment in adults. It gives people who wouldn't previously have considered treatment an option that will give them a confident result without embarrassment during treatment.

How does invisalign work?

The Invisalign system is a series of custom-made clear aligners that gently realign your teeth invisibly. The aligners are replaced every two weeks with our team carefully monitoring the process at regular intervals of around 6 - 8 weeks.

The aligners are removable and invisible, making them an ideal solution for adults. You only need to remove them to eat, drink, brush and floss, otherwise they remain imperceptibly in place.

Is the Invisalign system suitable for everyone?

Invisalign is an excellent solution for people who have crooked teeth and well-matched jaws. Our specialist team will make a careful assessment of your jaw and teeth before proceeding with any treatment to ensure that Invisalign will give you the best results.

Orthodontics - Lingual Braces

Lingual braces offer adults a virtually undetectable fixed brace system that gently and permanently corrects alignment and bite issues. Lingual braces are fixed to the inside of your teeth using small, streamlined brackets that are virtually undetectable.

What are the advantages of Lingual Braces?

Lingual braces provide adults with an aesthetically pleasing treatment option to correct issues with both teeth alignment and bite. Through advances in the technologies available for lingual braces, patients are experiencing a significant reduction in the time taken to complete their treatment.

Are lingual braces suitable for everyone?

Lingual braces are an excellent option for most people who have issues with their alignment and bite. Because lingual braces are fixed, they provide our specialists with excellent control in correcting alignment and bite, giving you a lasting solution.

At DST, our primary concern is giving you the best treatment possible. Therefore, before commencing any procedures we spend a great deal of time assessing your specific issues and discussing possible  treatment options. Once we have ascertained that lingual braces offer you the best way forward, we then ensure that your teeth and jaw are properly prepared for the treatment to achieve the best long-term, results.

How do lingual braces compare to external braces?

The treatment time between lingual braces and external braces is similar and, in many cases can even prove to be faster.

As with any re-alignment treatment a short period of time is needed to acclimatise to your new braces. This period is approximately the same for both external and lingual braces. It generally takes between 1 - 2 weeks before you are completely accustomed to the braces. In the case of external braces a small amount of discomfort to the cheeks and lips is possible, where lingual braces affect the tongue. But, the state-of-the-art lingual brackets are very streamlined and comfortable.

Orthodontics - Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces offer a more aesthetic option to standard metal braces. Fixed to the outside of the teeth, ceramic braces are translucent brackets and therefore less conspicuous against the teeth.

What do ceramic braces offer?

Ceramic braces offer a more aesthetically pleasing option for adults who require external braces to correct their teeth and jaw alignment issues. The translucent ceramic brackets blend in with the tooth colour and are much less noticeable than the metal brackets used with standard external braces.

Although a standard wire is still used to align the teeth, it is much less noticeable when not attached to metal brackets, offering you a much more natural smile throughout your treatment.

Are ceramic braces suitable for everyone?

We always carry out a very careful assessment before commencing treatment so that we can advise you whether ceramic braces offer you the best option for your orthodontic treatment, but they are an excellent treatment for most people with alignment and jaw issues.

Orthodontics - Incognito Braces

Incognito is a high-tech appliance for patients with all kinds of different malocclusions. It is completely invisible, easy to keep clean and the only one who knows you are having orthodontic treatment is you.

How does Incognito work?

Unlike conventional braces that are fixed to the front of your teeth, Incognito braces are discreet as they are fixed to the inner surface of the teeth, making them invisible from the outside. The individual brackets are extremely flat thus ensuring maximum comfort.
